Reading Shoulder Fellowships

Fellowship Programme

The Reading Shoulder Surgery Unit offers two one-year fellowships in Shoulder Surgery under the direction of Stephen Copeland, FRCS and Ofer Levy, MD MCh (Orth) and offers comprehensive approach to shoulder surgery.

The fellowship starts in January and July every year.

The Fellow will gain extensive experience in all aspects of shoulder surgery: arthroscopic surgery techniques, open reconstructions, treatment of shoulder trauma including minimally invasive techniques, and shoulder arthroplasty. The fellow will also be involved in clinical and basic science research. The Shoulder Fellow will be expected to monitor the implementation of the computerised Orthopaedic Database set up by the previous fellow, to continue with existing retrospective research, to set up prospective trials, which may be continued by subsequent fellows, and to initiate basic research projects, which may be aided by other junior staff in the hospital. The Shoulder Fellow will be expected as well to take part and to contribute to the teaching of the junior staff.
