Welcome to the Physiotherapy section of the Reading Shoulder Unit
Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.
They maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease.
The profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to stay in work while helping them to remain independant for as long as possible.
Where do we provide physiotherapy services?
Physiotherapy is provided in a number of locations across Berkshire.
The main site is:
All NHS patients local to Reading may be seen at the hospital of their treatment (the Berkshire Independent Hospital or Spire Dunedin Hospital) or at their GP surgery or by Physiothearpists that provide NHS service. Patients located further away will be referred to physiotherapy providers local to their GP.

Physiotherapy Courses
The Reading Shoulder Unit runs regular physiotherapy courses promoting evidence based practice and facilitating continuing professional development. Courses feature renowned clinical specialists, orthopaedic consultants and researchers.
