Mr Assaf Moriah

Senior Clinical Fellow in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery

Mr Assaf Moriah is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in shoulder, elbow and sports surgery. He completed his orthopaedic training at Shamir Medical Centre (Assaf Harofeh), one of Israel's largest tertiary referral hospitals, where he gained extensive experience in trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery.

Mr Moriah has a particular interest in shoulder and sports medicine, including arthroscopic and reconstructive procedures of the shoulder and knee, shoulder instability, rotator cuff disease, biologic treatments, and ultrasound-guided interventions. He is currently undertaking an advanced fellowship at the Reading Shoulder Unit, an internationally recognised centre of excellence in shoulder and elbow surgery.

Prior to joining the Reading Shoulder Unit, Mr Moriah completed a Sports Knee Fellowship at Fortius Clinic, London, working with internationally renowned knee surgeons and developing expertise in complex sports injuries and knee preservation surgery.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Moriah is actively involved in research, education and innovation. He has authored and co-authored scientific publications and presentations in the fields of shoulder and sports surgery and regularly teaches ultrasound-guided injection techniques and shoulder examination courses to surgeons, physiotherapists and general practitioners.

Mr Moriah is committed to delivering patient-centred care, combining evidence-based practice with the latest surgical and non-surgical treatment options to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients.

Professional memberships include the Israeli Orthopaedic Association and the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS).
