Mr. Ira Bachar Avnieli, MD

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Fellow of the Reading Shoulder Unit

Ira Bachar studied medicine at the Ben Gurion University, Israel, 2005-2012. After completing his MD he completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery in Barzilai Medical Center, Israel. He spent periods of fellowship training in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery in Souraski Hospital – Tel Aviv, Israel and shoulder surgery in Barzilai Medical Center, Ashkelon, Israel. He practiced as a senior orthopaedic consultant for the National Health Service – "Maccabi" between 2016-2021.

In 2020 he joined the Reading Shoulder Unit for continued fellowship practice, gaining more experience in advanced treatments for different shoulder and elbow pathologies, with special emphasis on shoulder arthroscopy and reverse shoulder replacement with the Verso Reverse Shoulder System.
